The passengers
Eight strangers on the last danfo out of Yaba. Spoiler-free introductions.
- You
- You print flyers for a living in Yaba. The power failed, the job ran late, and you have missed every bus but one. Your sister Dara is waiting for you in Ikorodu.
- Kunle
- The conductor. He hangs off the door shouting "Ikorodu! Ikorodu! Last bus!" and swears the empty seat is already taken.
- Tunde
- The driver. Older, calm, and sure of himself: he says he has driven this road more times than you can count. He would rather not stop tonight.
- Chidi
- A young man glued to his phone, cracking jokes about Lagos traffic to keep the mood light. He speaks Pidgin.
- Adaeze
- Sharp-eyed and impatient. She wants the window closed, wants to get home, and notices things the others would rather not.
- Mama Sade
- An elderly woman in a headwrap who speaks Yoruba and prays for everyone on the bus. She seems to know more than she says.
- Musa
- A Hausa-speaking traveller who used to ride this road every week. Something about tonight unsettles him.
- Bako
- A tired passenger who keeps drifting off, and who cannot quite remember something important.
- Dara
- Your sister, on the phone from Ikorodu. The network keeps dropping.

Who they really are is for you to find out on the ride.
